Sustainability
There is already a lot of everything in the world. That is why we produce products thoughtfully in small batches, avoiding overproduction. Kiedo also has several products made to pre-order or custom order, so we respond to demand and produce just the right products from valuable material. Wrap belts also transform existing wardrobes into new outfits: wrap belts create entirely new looks and many unused clothes get to be used again.

The basic principle of the circular economy is sustainability. For a product to be as ecological as possible, it should have a long lifespan. Kiedo's products can be maintained and repaired almost indefinitely, leather as a material is very durable: I personally use a leather backpack made from my own father's 50-year-old leather jacket.
Kiedo's products are made in Pirkanmaa, and we also purchase all our materials from Finland. We manufacture most products from industrial leftover leather, a material that has already been produced but left unused. Additionally, we aim to avoid material waste through careful cutting planning - and we make jewelry and small products from our own production leftovers. The zero waste principle is important to us, and the stud earrings in the jewelry selection ensure that even the smallest piece is put to good use! These zero waste jewelry pieces are packed in Toijala Jewelry Box's domestic biodegradable boxes.

We aim for the smallest possible carbon footprint also in logistics - domestic production is therefore an important choice for us. Kiedo's packages shipped by mail are small and weigh only a few hundred grams. Product batches are made within at most an hour's distance from our store, and some products are delivered to the shop by bicycle or on foot! Other benefits of domestic production include employment, increased self-sufficiency, and quick response to demand.
The products are tied with ribbons made from cutting leftovers, and all Kiedo packaging, product tags, and shipping consider ecological solutions. Our packaging does not use plastic. Kiedo's product tags, shipping bags, jewelry boxes, paper bags, and thank you cards are all made domestically. The paper products come from FSC-certified forests. These choices are not the cheapest, but they align with our values, are sustainable, and respect nature.
Wrap belts have also been approved by an independent expert panel and listed on the ostavastuullisesti.fi site as well as on Pirkanmaa's KIERTO100 list of circular economy companies.
Thank you for supporting the circular economy - let's build a sustainable future together!
